The Local Power of Energy, The Control of the Future
The SIL-A is an efficient Feeder Protection Relay featuring reliable Overcurrent and Earth Fault Protection for primary and secondary distribution, specifically optimized for Medium Voltage (MV) cubicle equipment.
Fanox utilizes the latest electronic circuit technologies to develop the SIL-A, with various versions available to meet specific industry and grid requirements. This solution effectively fulfills the needs of renewable energy power plants and MV distribution networks with high efficiency.
The SIL-A is designed to require fewer devices and less space, thereby reducing operation and maintenance costs. Its optimum design extends the device's lifespan and enhances safety through rapid installation times while reducing risks such as electric shock and fire.
The SIL-A features ANSI 52 circuit breaker direct signaling/control and ANSI 79 reclosing functions. Through programmable logic via configurable inputs and outputs (PGC), ANSI 68 Zone Selective Interlocking (ZSI) can also be utilized.
The relay offers optional directional earth fault (including isolated neutral) and ground overvoltage protection. In the event of manual circuit breaker closing, it provides a solution to detect existing grid faults and trip the breaker. If the overcurrent protection function does not clear the fault before the set time delay expires, the fault is considered critical. In such cases, the fault must be cleared quickly via the ANSI 50 SOTF (Switch On To Fault) function.
For ease of use, the SIL-A features a micro USB connector as a front connection port. Depending on the version, rear port options include RS485 for serial communication and RJ45 for Ethernet communication.
Regarding rear communication ports, the SIL-A supports multiple industrial protocols:
DNP3 and Modbus (both Serial and TCP/IP options)
IEC 60870-5-103
IEC 60870-5-104
IEC 61850
All these communication standards can be selected based on the model or general settings. The SIL-A has successfully completed all required type tests at the KEMA Laboratories in the Netherlands. This independent certification provides customers with a higher assurance of quality and reliability.
